HOTEL & TRAVEL INFO (for SynBERC PIs, Affiliated PIs, SAB, students/postdocs/staff)
Synberc will pay room and tax at the Hotel Shattuck Plaza (check-in: Mar 24, check-out: Mar 27). Students and postdocs are expected to share double-occupancy rooms as much as possible. On your Travel Request form, write in the name if you have a preferred roommate. Upon check-in at Hotel Shattuck Plaza, you will be asked for your credit card to cover personal incidentals.
For air tickets, if you submit your Travel Request form to Fernando del Rosario BEFORE March 5th, Synberc will book and purchase your economy-class tickets. If not, you may have to pay out of pocket and be reimbursed later. Campus travel policy only allows nonrefundable, nontransferable economy-class tickets.
MORE INFO FOR STUDENTS AND POSTDOCS
There will be an orientation/mixer for new and current students on the evening of March 24 after dinner. Plan to arrive at the hotel by 6:00 PM. If you are funded by Synberc and/or expect to be reimbursed, you are required to present a poster (roughly 36" x 48"). You may use this poster template and Synberc logo. Please mark your poster "CONFIDENTIAL" if you anticipate filing a patent or invention disclosure. Confidential work will be isolated from public view. If you are not ready to submit your poster when you register, email your title, author/s, and abstract to Fernando del Rosario (no later than March 12). You will need to follow up with a PDF of your poster before you will be reimbursed.
